Youth @ the Armory

Healthy. Resilient. Awesome.

Naugatuck Youth Services has been focused on positive youth development since 2013. Our mission is to help the youth of Naugatuck realize their potential to be healthy, resilient, and awesome. Our Youth @ The Armory program strives to do just that through building community connections, introducing youth to positive role models and mentors, inspiring confidence, and creating opportunities for team work and collaborative problem solving. All data in this report are from the 2018 and 2019 Closing Armory Surveys conducted each year in June. 70 youth in grades 7 to 12 completed the surveys.

Youth @ the Armory Helps Kids Connect

The Youth @ the Armory program provides a safe place for youth to meet their peers and spend time with friends outside of school.

Participants shared that the Armory was one of the few safe spaces in the community to hang out or participate in recreational activities.

Youth @ the Armory provides Naugatuck teens a place to spend time with their friends outside of school, meet to friends and just be free with their time.

"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured."
