SMART Goals

1.  Increase patient/client access to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in County by developing policy and procedure for Suboxone inductions to occur in County Jail.  Obtain initial numbers of clients entering jail that request MAT by June 1, 2016 (completed) to determine staffing needs for time.  Identify financial barriers and solutions by October 1, 2016.

2.  Increase the number of prescribers for Suboxone in the County by: (a) Having contact with 5 potential Suboxone prescribers by November 1, 2016;  (b) Contacting 3 current Suboxone prescribing physicians to provide support and education to increase their prescribing of Suboxone in their practice by September 1, 2016;  (c)  Assisting with the process for 2 physicians in the County to start practicing with Suboxone treatment by June 1, 2017.  This can include a pain management physician(s);  (d) Identifying a provider in each area of the County that prescribes Suboxone with MediCal coverage, or low cost for cash pay by June 1, 2017.  Educate these doctors that Drug & Alcohol Services can provide the treatment component.
