Throughout this assessment, common threads often emerged in discussion around data and findings. While not explicitly identified as priority health issues, these common threads consistently wound their way across the Ozarks Health Commission (OHC) Region.
In studying these common threads, the OHC used the Socioecological Model as a framework to examine the impact of these health issues. The Socioecological Model recognizes a wide range of factors working together to impact health and includes influences at the individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and policy levels.
Each of these common threads can impact health issues at levels throughout the model. Community partners targeting to affect the common threads should consider action throughout the spectrum of the model.
