Shelby County COVID-19 Case Counts

Note: Case counts in this curve will lag by 4 to 5 days.  Due to different source data, numbers may differ slightly from day to day, especially in the most recent 4 to 5 days. This data is preliminary and subject to change. Records with missing specimen collection date are excluded from this graph.

Note: For case definitions for confirmed vs probable COVID-19 cases and deaths, please review the Tennessee Department of Health case definitions

Note: These tables provide estimates of both persons tested and testing volume in Shelby County.

Results of Persons Tested contains our data for the number of persons who are Shelby County residents and have received a test for COVID-19. An individual should only count as a single person within the positive or negative categories, but individuals with positive and negative results will be counted in both categories (and counted twice in the total).

Results of Tests Performed contains our data for the number of tests performed on the persons in each category of result. An individual may receive multiple tests with varying results; this table counts every test once.

Note: “Inactive/Recovered“ cases are people who are (1) at least 14 days beyond their symptom onset date, or are at least 14 days beyond the first test confirming their illness if asymptomatic, and (2) are not deceased. The definition is currently being updated to 14 days to reflect changes at the state level; and the terminology has shifted to “Active” rather than “Current” and “Inactive/Recovered” then “Recovered”

NoteNew case counts in this graph will lag by 4 to 5 days. Due to different source data, numbers may differ slightly from day to day, especially in the most recent 4 to 5 days. Note: Positivity percentages in these graphs will lag by several days, therefore the current week will not be represented in this graph. Due to different source data, percentages may differ slightly, especially in the most recent week. This data is preliminary and subject to change. Records with missing specimen collection date are excluded from these graphs.
