Environmental Health

Our environment includes everything in the world surrounding us. From conditions affecting our basic physical needs (air, water, and food) to conditions affecting our needs for safe communities, our interaction with the environment is complex and not always beneficial to our health. A public health priority in the Greater Nashua Public Health Region (GNPHR) is to protect human health from everyday threats that result from elements in our environment. It is our goal to promote a healthy environment that prevents premature death and avoids illness caused by non-infectious, non-occupational environmental factors. To protect our whole community, we are committed to safeguarding the health of vulnerable populations including children, older adults, and people with disabilities from environmental hazards.
