Violence

For the months of July-December 2016 in Cuyahoga County, there were 3,788 cases that reported to the Emergency Room (ER)/Urgent Care (UC) for reasons relating to violence. 

Of those 3,788 cases...
     2,003 were female (52.9%)
     1,785 were male (47.1%)

The youngest case was less than one year old and the oldest case was 116 years old. 
The single age with the largest number of cases was 25 years old with 141 (26.7%).

Males aged 27-64 years comprised the largest number of cases with 1,092 (28.8%). Females aged 27-64 years comprised the second highest number of cases with 1,012 (26.7%).

MetroHealth Medical Center saw the highest number of cases with 971 (25.6%) coming through their facility. 
UH Cleveland Medical Center saw the second highest number of cases with 517 (13.6%).

The highest number of violence cases was seen in July, with 714 (18.8%).

Gunshot

For the months of July-December 2016 in Cuyahoga County, there were 562 cases that reported to the Emergency Room (ER)/Urgent Care (UC) for gunshot-related reasons. 

Of these 562 cases...
     61 were female (10.9%)
     501 were male (89.1%)

The youngest case was less than one year old and the oldest case was 115 years old. 
The single age with the largest number of cases was 18, with 39 (3.2%). 

Males aged 27-64 years comprised the largest number of cases with 212 (37.7%). Males aged 18-26 years comprised the second highest number of cases wtih 193 (34.3%). 

MetroHealth Medical Center saw the highest number of cases with 278 (49.5%) coming through their facility. 
UH Cleveland Medical Center saw the second highest number of cases with 83 (14.8%). 

The highest number of violence cases was seen in August, with 103 (18.3%).
