Between the years of 2012-2015, there were 22,504 live births in the City of Cleveland. 

Of these births, 17.3% were born prematurely

Ohio has a preterm birth percentage of 12.1%, ranking it 40th out of 50 states. Within the state, Cuyahoga county has the highest percentage at 14.1%.

Highlights

Comparisons were made between Cleveland neighborhoods and US, Ohio, and Cuyahoga County's preterm birth percentages. 

Kamm's Corners is the only neighborhood experiencing a percentage lower than the national average, at 11.4%. 

Bellaire-Puritas experienced a rate lower than the Ohio preterm percentage of 12.15%

Old Brooklyn, Detroit Shoreway, and University all experienced rates lower than the Cuyahoga County average of 14.1%.

All other Neighborhoods experienced rates higher than 14.1%
